Founder Mike Brown works alongside leadership and inside partner teams on a project, consulting, or fractional basis — depending on what the engagement calls for. The following framework outlines the roles he plays across sector and discipline.

How we integrate

Cultural Strategist | Creative Director

Mike joins at the point of origin, working directly with whoever holds the vision — landing the right truth behind it, and translating it into a concept that others can understand, believe, and build.

Experience Strategist | Design Advisor

Mike sits alongside partners, teams, and specialists shaping the design and experience into buildable plans, reviewing their work against the original intent, and collaborating on solutions when the work stalls.

Project Advocate | Strategic Advisor

Mike stays engaged across the full project bridging stakeholders, teams, and partners — managing people and processes to keep the vision in intact through design, planning, budgeting, and delivery.

How we add value

Vision & Plan

Before anything gets pitched, people need a clear view of the initial idea.

Mike translates a conviction into a defensible point of view, an articulated vision, and a plan to move it forward.

Concept & Experience

A vision doesn’t move people until they see, understand, and believe it.

Mike leads teams in turning the vision into narratives, plans, and principles that earn belief, investment, and action.

Design & Development

Milestone phases between design and build risk eroding the vision’s integrity.

Mike stays engaged through planning, budgeting, development, and build to actively champion the original intent.

Delivery & Activation

The gap between what gets built and what gets lived is real — and solvable.

Mike advises through delivery and operations, so the vision doesn’t just hold once it’s lived-in, it compounds.

We are improvers of things — thinking, designing, building.

How we've delivered

Placemaking Consultant,
Design Advisor,
Project Advocate.

Founder Mike Brown is a placemaking consultant, design advisor, and project advocate. He’s known for connecting dots others don’t see — pairing systems thinking, creative vision, and business acumen to help partners clarify a project vision, translate that into a buildable concept, and champion it through delivery to ensure it remains intact.

Prior to Sightworks, Mike spent over 20 years designing places that disappear: theater, fashion, retail, experiential and large-scale events for partners including Rockwell Group, Gensler, PMC, LVMH, Adobe, Delta, and SXSW. Cross-disciplinary work that put theory into practice, across diverse sectors, projects, and budgets.

What the impermanence taught him: The less we can depend on built infrastructure, the more intentional we need to be about the human conditions inside. That’s what Mike builds for now — with organizations ready to elevate the human experience, at scale.

Sightworks is a strategic consultancy bridging the gap between what gets built, and what gets lived. The practice scales fluidly, bringing in trusted collaborators and partners to match the size and complexity of each engagement.
